University of Warsaw has obtained targeted subsidies from the Polish Ministry of Education and Science for the programme entitled "Internationalisation of Research of the University of Warsaw Archaeological Research Centers". Number of activities are planned to be carried out by the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, the Faculty of Archaeology and the Centre for Andean Research of the University of Warsaw.

Funding in the amount of PLN 1,417,000 was awarded in accordance to Article 404 of the Act of 20 July 2018 (“The Law on Higher Education and Science”). Some of the events, which will be taking place until 31st December 2023, will be organized in the countries where the University of Warsaw scholars conduct their fieldwork. These include conferences and scientific congresses that will present the achievements of Polish researchers in Egypt, Georgia, Guatemala and Peru. Thematic meetings of workshop and educational character are planned, among others, in Iran, Peru, Sicily and Hawaii. There will also be a series of exhibitions presenting the results of Polish research to audiences in Sicily, Morocco and Peru. Some of the events will constitute a contribution to the celebrations of the bicentennial of the Republic of Peru.

A number of activities will be prepared in a digital form, making them accessible to audiences around the world on the virtual platforms. Some events are scheduled in Poland, such as international conferences and workshop meetings devoted to the issues undertaken in the research of archaeologists from the University of Warsaw. They will concern, among others, Nubian studies, investigations in Biblical Tyre, research in the high ranges of the Andes Mountains connected with the Capacocha ritual, as well as a summary of the results of the first Polish ERC grant in archaeology.
